Personal Development

Let’s discuss

Decide To Improve Your Life

Way to go, Captain Obvious! I know, that’s what you are thinking.

The problem is that the majority of people never make this decision. They complain, bitch and moan for their entire lives. Their life passes and they never made a firm and definite decision to improve their lives.

This idea is known as the principle of contrast. Figure out what you don’t want and decide on what you do want. It’s like saying that you don’t like vanilla ice cream and deciding that you want chocolate. Until you decide that you want chocolate and move into action toward grabbing the chocolate cone, you aren’t going to get it.

Personal Development – Just How Is It Defined?

POSTED BY on Dec 12, 2011 under Personal Development

Personal development can be defined as self improvement. It is a process of moving from point A to point B in one’s own life and the course between the two points is usually considered to be in an upward direction.

Personal development is important to not put too tight a definition on the term. This is because it is a highly individual process of self improvement. Too often, personal development ends up being measured against the progress of others, but this misses the true purpose. The process is to move from Point A to Point B. Point A is defined as where you are now and Point B is where you want to be in the future.

Personal Development & Success – "Creating the Motivation You Need"

POSTED BY on Oct 19, 2011 under Personal Development

Have you ever heard someone say something like, “I haven’t felt motivated lately,” or, “I’ll do it as soon as I feel motivated enough?” I know that I have and, truth be known, am guilty of using these and similar phrases myself. You see, I, like many others, used to believe that action only happens through motivation. That, I must wait around for the so-called “feeling to move me” before I will get anything accomplished.

Well, I was wrong. And I believe that I was wrong for two reasons. First is that I was unable to see the ‘big picture’ – the reason that the ‘thing’ had to be done in the first place and how that ‘thing’ relates to other things that I wanted to accomplish, do, enjoy, etc.

Take Advantage Of Personal Training Testimonials

POSTED BY on Oct 9, 2011 under Personal Development

Client testimonials are vitally important to any business. I believe they are vitally important in a personal training business. This gives you a competitive edge and adds a lot of credibility to your business. It is also a very strong marketing tools if used correctly.

If you have a website for your personal training business, testimonials are key. The reason for this is that people browse on the internet and like to read things first. This is why having good solid personal training testimonials for clients to read adds real value. This is a game changer, it has nothing to do with price, people will pay more for a service that adds value. If you have five to ten testimonials on your site, this is more important than any special offer or list of qualifications.

Child’s Creativity: Make an Environment That Encourages Creative Thinking and Personal Development

POSTED BY on Oct 4, 2011 under Personal Development

From the day we started school, we have been programmed think inside the box. It starts with the obvious; Johnny, I like the use of color but a cow isn’t green. Or, even more subtly with, Suzie, what is that? Oh…okay…um nice job.

At home we continue to reinforce the thinking inside the box mentality. We tell our children that anything is possible. But, do we really believe it. We all see the lives of kids where the parents are fully behind the child’s passion. What do we say? They are crazy, Billy isn’t talented and smart enough to ever become an astronaut. What are his parents thinking, sending him to summer camps, extra curricular science classes and, encouraging him to become a fighter pilot. Are they nuts. They don’t get it, Billy isn’t the sharpest pencil in the drawer.

Stepping Up With Personal Impact Training

POSTED BY on Sep 17, 2011 under Personal Development

The modern techniques of self-help and personal impact training are ever popular in the Western culture, that it has become easier for people to access such diverse ways of self-improvement. The pop-psychology category on the bookshelves of bookstores, are filled with tips and advice on how to succeed financially, win more friends, attracting more women or how to influence others. Buying the books is one thing, but actually taking part in a self-improvement/motivational programme is another experience.

For some people it is easier for them to take part in something that involves other people and working together in groups. Others prefer one-to-one personal impact training. People who turn to motivational speakers tend to be big businesspersons seeking ways to improve their current business, gain more financial success, or to try to salvage a failed business attempt.

Reflecting on Your Personal Development

POSTED BY on Aug 27, 2011 under Personal Development

At some point in most of our lives, some of us are confronted with tribulations and or hardships of some sort. Many of us continue to work hard, stay focused and be true to our efforts toward working out of a particular situation; yet to no avail. It is important to recognize that you are not alone. It is also important to note that reflecting on ones past challenges is an opportunity to learn, make changes and look for that opening to seek the moment from a hardship. The issue is to not get frustrated. One must erase any thoughts of fear, specifically those fears you have no control over and work in the direction of progressive thinking. Keep in mind that as there are contradictions in our world, so is there the issues in the power of acknowledgments, acknowledgments that progress has been made but more is yet to be accomplished.
